Pamela Cousins

Ms. Pamela Cousins began her adult career serving in the U.S. Air Force. Her mission to help mitigate national security cyber challenges in support of the National Intelligence Community was recognized as exemplary military service. With combined military and private industry responsibilities, she has over 27 years of cyber security, project management and leadership experience in building teams and managing secure IT systems. Ms. Cousins currently works for the Federal Government implementing common policies and best practices that are risk-based and able to effectively respond to the pace of ever-changing cyber threats to Federal networks. She has earned various professional Cyber and IT Certifications.

Ms. Cousins’ passion for serving the community dates back 35 years. Her civic participation includes managing a Meals on Wheels Program, developing a mentoring program for girls, to serving as President of her homeowners association. Pamela was elected to serve on the Calvert County Board of Education in 2014 and re-elected in 2018. She was recently elected to serve on the board of directors for the Maryland Association of Boards of Education (MABE). She endeavors to provide all learners with access to challenging learning opportunities. She is also the President of the Concerned Black Women of Calvert County (CBW), whose mission is to improve the quality of life of families in the local community. Ms. Cousins is a member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and Southern Maryland Chain Chapter, The Links, Inc.

Ms. Cousins was presented CBW’s 2017 Outstanding Member Award at the 15th Annual Women of the World (WOW) Awards. She received the 2016 Outstanding Achievement Award for Advocacy by the Calvert County Commission for Women at the 14th Annual WOW Awards. She was also named the 2015 Citizen of the Year for Calvert County from the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. – Tau Lambda Lambda Chapter.

Ms. Cousins has lived in Calvert County for the last 11 years. Her daughter, a 2018 Northern High School graduate is a Freshman at Hampton University.
